TOP 10 SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION QUESTIONS
Scalp Micropigmentation is a non-invasive treatment that uses detailed micro-needles to deposit pigment into the scalp. The result creates the appearance of a full head of hair. If you are starting to thin, recede, or if you are completely bald, we can give you the look of a short buzz cut.
There are three main differences between Scalp Micropigmentation vs. Tattooing:
1. Pigment is deposited into the skin at a shallower depth than tattoos, only about 1.5 mm into the papillary dermis.
2. We make small micro dots, not shading or drawing lines, in order to create a densification effect.
3. We use only a black pigment which is much more diluted than typical tattoo inks. For this reason, it won’t discolor over an extended time.
The Scalp Micropigmentation treatment typically takes 2-5 hours per session depending on your degree of hair loss.
For most clients, the pain is minimal and it’s consistently less painful than a traditional tattoo. Pain tolerance is case to case per client, but your health and safety is our priority. We will ensure the process is as smooth as possible.
Scalp micropigmentation should never be considered a one treatment process. Most clients can expect between 2-4 sessions to complete their treatment depending on the extent of hair loss. These treatments are usually spaced about 10-20 days apart.
SMP cost generally falls between $500 to $3,000. The exact price of a scalp micropigmentation treatment, however, may be higher or lower depending on the complexity of your customized procedure. We recommend setting up a complimentary consultation so we can evaluate your case and provide a personalized price quote based on your hair loss needs.
There are factors that determine what hairline is suitable for you. We tailor the hairline to your individual features in order to create the most natural and appropriate result.
Yes. We have a wide range of pigment shades to match different skin tones.
Scalp micropigmentation is non-invasive and requires no down time. After treatment it is common to notice some redness on the scalp for 48-72 hours. Intensity of redness is based on sensitivity of the skin. It usually subsides quickly, and most clients return to work either right away or within a day.
Scalp Micropigmentation is a form of permanent cosmetics or permanent makeup that typically lasts 3-5 years. After that time, a client may experience some slight fading. How much it fades varies from person to person depending on their lifestyle, immune system, and a variety of other reasons. Typically, most clients come back for a touch-up procedure every 3 to 5 years.
